Tampaksiring Temple or the Temple is a holy spring water temple located in Tampaksiring village, Gianyar regency and it is to the east about 39 km from Denpasar. It is set in a valley and surrounded by hills. On the west side of this temple, there is an Indonesian President palace which has been found by the first president.
The name of Tirta Empul contained in an inscription that is stored in Sakenan Temple, Manukaya village, District Tampaksiring, about 3 km from Tirta Empul Temple. In this paper, Tirta Empul is named by the Tirta Ri Air Hampul and later the name was changed to Tirta Hampul and eventually became Tirta Empul. Hampul Tirta Ri Air show means water or sacred pool (Petirthan) which is emerging from the ground water.
